Great location off the plaza, yummy Pinot and nice team of staff to share about the vineyards.

A wonderful little winery where the staff is very knowledgeable of not only their wine, but wine in general. Our tasting was accompanied by great in-depth information of their exceptional wine. They specialize in Pinot Noir wines and that is very obvious at first sip. But we found the others, the Chardonnay, bold reds, and the whites equally satisfying. The room is simple, but relaxing. We joined as club members and are looking forward to receiving our selections.

Fulcrum is not a new player on the block, but definitely one that many should experience if they have the chance.
While not glaring to the public in the sense of seeing the winery front from the street, you will need to wander down an alleyway to find them. Most tend to gravitate to many of the alleyways in Sonoma as they are quite inviting and clearly labeled in terms of shops and wineries that are located within them. Fulcrum does not have a huge footprint, so reservations are definitely recommended. Their lineup of wines will be what one expects from the region, so no surprised, but expect a Pinot driven flight for the most part. While we are on the topic of Pinot's I'd like to bring to the attention the small block vineyards by the name of Gaps Crown. Only a handful of wineries get to pull fruit from this location and the Pinot's honestly reign supreme here! I was so excited when I saw it on the tasting flight and was not let down as it easily became my favorite, even with it's hefty price tag. That is not to say the others were not as good, but Gap's Crown for me is always a winner! The tasting was quite short as is, as the host was slammed, so I cannot comment much on the service since it was a one person show for quite a few guests.
Would I recommend this winery to others, you betcha. Easy access, delicious wines, and close to many other wineries for stops afterwards!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Don Jeffries is the Alton Brown of wine. I had such a great time learning about wine and the growing regions from him! It made me a proud local California resident for sure! He gave us a super warm welcome and left us with a great lasting impression. He even recommended wines to try at the next tasting we had lined up for the day.
My partner had a great experience with Emma over the phone prior to our visit. She even recommended some other tasting spots when the reservation we wanted wasn't available. Of course, we still had to pay Fulcrum Wines a visit and try to get in, which we did! We were able to squeeze in our tasting earlier in the day as a walk-in.
Ambiance is serene. Sat outside and had a great tasting experience with my partner. Every glass came with a great back story. If you don't like Pinot Noir you will love it when you leave here. Definitely worth a visit!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Helen B.San Francisco, CA03Sep 22, 2023
Fulcrum is a super place to spend some time tasting great wine while being educated about the wines being served. Pauli is delightful and very knowledgeable. The wines were excellent, as was the setting. I am local and will definitely bring guests here. Thank you!!!

Don was the best!! We walked into this winery off the sidewalk and it was our best experience in Sonoma! Truly could not ask for a better wine experience. The Pinots are incredible, the Chardonnay was the best I've ever had, and I almost robbed the store for the rosé. Thank you Don!!!

Pauly was our host and was fantastic. Explained all about the wine, in detail. Helped us find wines we really enjoyed and truly made us feel welcome! We happened to be the only ones in the taste room for a bit and my boyfriend and I felt like we were family. Honestly I'd go back to taste all of those Pinot noirs again. I typically dislike Pinot noirs because they are too fake grape tasting. (Prob cause I was only trying cheaper Pinot noirs) but Pauly was able to help me find a Pinot noir that I actually enjoyed and purchased. Can't wait to go back!
